It seems that Activision's Pitfall! for iOS is really out to give Imangi Studios' Temple Run a run for its money. Apart from recently turning free-to-play, the endless running re-imagining of the classic Atari 2600 game has just received a doozy of an update. Only the second update to "befall" Pitfall!, which was released last August as a universal iOS game, the new update introduces a brand new mode called Relic Rush. Relic Rush offers 12 new custom stages, three stages each for Jungle, Mountain, and Minecart settings. The new mode dares you to complete these stages as quickly as you can and challenge your friends with your best times. To aid you in your new time-pressured quest, you can take advantage of the Burst Tonic. This new power-up potion gives you a speed boost when activated. Oh, and in case you're wondering why it's called Relic Rush, it's because you also have to find the mystical diamond relics — all 32 of them — while you're rushing through the stages. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. In addition to Relic Rush, the following enhancements are also included by Activision in the latest update to Pitfall!:
The bigger and better Pitfall! is available now in the App Store for, as mentioned, free. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
