All Hail The Heroic King Fergus In Temple Run: Brave
December 14, 2012
It seems that Temple Run: Brave is outrunning Temple Run itself as far as updates are concerned.
While the original endless running game it's based on hasn't received an update in nearly three months, Temple Run: Brave has just received its second update in just a month and a half.
But let's not get carried away with relative measures of time, shall we? Let's focus on the latest update to Temple Run: Brave instead, as we should.
The latest update to Temple Run: Brave is actually similar to the previous one in that it also adds something taken straight from the eponymous animated film.
The previous update introduced Wisp Mode, which was inspired by the will-o'-the-wisps that led the archer princess Merida to her destiny. This time, Temple Run: Brave welcomes Merida's father himself, King Fergus.
In the new version of Temple Run: Brave, you can now play as King Fergus, but only after you purchase him in the in-game store for half a million coins.
Unsurprisingly, along with this new heroic character come new achievements, which you can unlock by playing as King Fergus.
Also a significant addition to Temple Run: Brave is the new Second Shot feature. Second Shot is a new token type that you can collect while on the run.
After every run in which you were able to collect any number of Second Shot tokens, you get the chance to earn power-ups, score multipliers, and other upgrades. Sort of like what the spin tokens let you do in Jetpack Joyride.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, Temple Run: Brave is available in the App Store for $0.99.
