Boo! Will Monsters, Inc. Run Scare Off Other iOS Platformers?
December 13, 2012
In time for the 3-D re-release of the critically acclaimed 2001 Disney/Pixar animated film "Monsters, Inc." next week, Disney has just released the tie-in game Monsters, Inc. Run for iOS.
Just as it did with the "Brave" tie-in game Temple Run: Brave, which was developed by Disney in partnership with Temple Run creator Imangi Studios, Disney had some outside help with Monsters, Inc. Run. This time, the multimedia giant worked with Get Set Games, the developer of Mega Jump and Mega Run.
Indeed, just as Temple Run: Brave is essentially a "Brave"-themed Temple Run, Monsters, Inc. Run is essentially a "Monster, Inc."-themed version of Mega Run.
Being a game based on Mega Run, Monsters, Inc. Run is naturally a platform game. In the game, you play as Mike and Sulley as they journey across Monstropolis Rooftops and Jungle Ruins all the way through the Ice Cave in order to rescue Boo from the nefarious Randall.
Of course, Monsters, Inc. Run also involves collecting coins and power-ups. Outside its three main worlds filled with exciting levels, the game also includes a similarly exciting endless mode.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, Monsters, Inc. Run is available now in the App Store for $0.99.
