Documents By Readdle Is Your All-In-One File Manager, Doc Viewer And Media Player
January 16, 2013
The all-in-one file manager and document viewer ReaddleDocs for iPad has just hit its big 4.0 update. But here's the thing: you won't find the new update under the same name. Rather, you can find it under a different name, signifying a markedly different app. And that name is Documents by Readdle.
"Documents by Readdle is our vision of the perfect file manager, document viewer and media player for the iPad," says popular iOS productivity app developer Readdle.
"Since the introduction of the very first iPhone we create applications that allows people to store and read their content. Documents by Readdle represents everything we have learned over these years about design, user experience and feedback from millions of people."
As seen in the trailer for the app below, Documents by Readdle is quite similar in functionality to ReaddleDocs.
If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here.
It's a file manager that lets you access files from your computer and sync with Dropbox, iCloud, and other sources and services.
Of course, as its names suggests, it's also a document viewer. It lets you view common file formats, annotate PDFs, and create text files. It even lets you save documents straight from the Web for offline reading.
But that's not all. It may not be immediately apparent from the app's name, but Documents by Readdle is also a media player.
As demoed by the cute little girl in the trailer, Documents by Readdle can be used to play video and audio. Additionally, it can be used to view photos.
So, there you have Documents by Readdle, the all-in-one file manager, document viewer, and media player for iPad.
Compatible with iPad running iOS 5.0 or later, Documents by Readdle is available now in the App Store. Oh, and by the way, it's absolutely free.
