Embark On A Musical Adventure Unlike Any Other In Wave Trip
January 22, 2013
Prepare to go on a wave trip as you play, well, Wave Trip.
Just released in the App Store, Wave Trip is the latest game from Lucky Frame, the same developer behind the generative music maker and tower defense game hybrid Bad Hotel.
If nothing else, Wave Trip is proof that Lucky Frame's proclivity for music-based gaming is still alive and kicking.
Wave Trip invites you to "play a world of music" and "make it yours."
In the game, which is essentially a side-scrolling shooter, you control a geometric astronaut as she tries to save her endangered friends "through the medium of awesome tunes."

The various worlds that form the levels of Wave Trip contain orbs. Every time you hit an orb, a corresponding musical sound effect is triggered to the beat of the game's soundtrack.
Be careful about hitting an enemy, though, as the sound of a game being suddenly over is certainly not going to be music to your ears.
Wave Trip also comes with a built-in level remixer and editor:
All of the levels can be remixed and edited, and players can create their own levels and share them with the world. Since every object in Wave Trip has musical characteristics, creating a level is just like writing a piece of music - just easier (and with more cubist sheep).Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 4.3 or later, Wave Trip is available now in the App Store for $1.99.
