Bug In iOS 6.1 Could Be Crushed By Apple Before Feb. 20

February 15, 2013
Earlier today, Aldrin Calimlim reported that Apple was at work on a bug fix for iOS 6.1.1. Now, the German website iFun has said that the fix will be available to the public early next week, and likely before Feb. 20. As AppleInsider first reported, iFun accurately predicted the launch of iOS 6.1.1, "relying on the same sources that tell them 6.1.2 is on the way." The security bug in iOS 6.1 allows anyone to bypass your iPhone lock screen. In doing so, the intruder can access your phone app, view or modify contacts, access voice mail, or look through photos. The flaw occurs when a user makes an emergency call and then immediately cancels it. From there, one must only hold down the power button twice to initiate the exploit. We'll let you know when Apple releases the bug fix.
