Durex-Powered SOS Condoms App Pioneers Discreet Condom Delivery Service

Consider this: "Durex rolls out condom app and delivery service." A headline on the popular parody news site The Onion? Nope, it's a recent headline on Los Angeles Times. An April Fools' joke, then? Nope, April Fools' Day is still a couple of months away, obviously. Believe it or not, the condom app and delivery service in question do exist. Well, at least in Dubai they do. The service is called SOS Condoms and is available through its official website. It is also available as an iOS app that goes by the same name. Powered by Durex and developed by Buzzman, SOS Condoms lets you easily request a delivery for condoms whenever and wherever you need them. First, allow the app to determine your location. Then, choose your preferred prophylactic product. Finally, wait for a member of the SOS Condoms team to bring your order to you in less than an hour and get your payment upon delivery. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Don't worry, the SOS Condoms team is an impressively discreet lot, as advertised in the video above. Apparently, members of the SOS Condoms team can appear as a pizza delivery guy, a tourist asking for directions, and even a police officer. All for the sake of discreetness. Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 5.0 or later, SOS Condoms is available now in the App Store for free. Interestingly, the app bears an age rating of 12+ rather than the more sensible 21+ rating suggested by Buzzman. As mentioned, the SOS Condoms delivery service is currently available only in Dubai. But if you don't live in Dubai, you can vote for your city on the SOS Condoms website for it to be included in SOS Condoms' service coverage. Between this and the recently updated Condom Size app, I say it's been a pretty eventful week for condom apps on iOS. Source: App Store Via: Los Angeles Times [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
