Flickr For iOS Updated With Photo Saving, Social Tagging And Other Enhancements

February 21, 2013
Flickr for iOS has just received a new significant update. This new update, which is the app's second update since its major 2.0 redesign last December, brings a number of welcome improvements. First, the latest version of the official iOS app of the popular photo sharing service promises faster uploading. At the same time, it offers the option to easily download and save photos from your Photostream to your iDevice's camera roll. The newly updated app also lets you save the original copies of the photos you take within Flickr before you apply filters and other editing touches to them. Speaking of taking photos within the app, Flickr now also lets you snap shots by pressing your iDevice's volume up button. This function has, of course, long been supported in Apple's stock Camera app. Higher-resolution photo display in lightbox view is also included in the app's new update. Also included are a couple of social enhancements. The app now lets you tag or mention your contacts in photo comments and description just by typing "@screenname." In line with this, the app can now notify you every time any of your contacts mentions you. Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 4.3 or later, the latest version of Flickr is available now in the App Store for free. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
