IMDb Movies & TV Updated With Amazon Instant Video Integration And More
February 19, 2013
A couple of months after its big 3.0 update, IMDb Movies & TV has just been updated to version 3.1 with two special improvements and then some.
Perhaps most significant among all of the changes in the app is its new Amazon Instant Video integration. This is a welcome improvement and a hardly surprising one at that, seeing as IMDb is owned by Amazon.
In the latest version of IMDb Movies & TV, any title that's available on Amazon Prime now features a link to watch it through Amazon Instant Video. That is, if the Amazon Instant Video app, which was launched on iOS just last year, is also installed on your iDevice.
So, that's one special improvement in the newly updated IMDb Movie & TV. The other one has to do with the star-studded event that's set to take place on Sunday, Feb. 24: the 85th Academy Awards aka Oscars 2013.
With less than a week to go before the big night, IMDb Movies & TV has just been updated with a special Oscars section. This section features the list of nominees and photos from the red carpet and the ceremony itself. Also, this section will be brought up to date with the list of winners during the ceremony.
The app's new Amazon Instant Video integration and Oscars section are available on both iPhone and iPad editions of IMDb Movies & TV. But the other improvements brought by the app's latest update are applicable to the iPad edition only:
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later, IMDb Movies & TV 3.1 is available now in the App Store for free. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
