More Social And Streamlined Yelp For iOS Now Open For Business
February 28, 2013
A month after its Super Bowl, I mean, Puppy Bowl update, Yelp for iOS has just received another major update.
The latest update to the popular universal location-based app has quite a little love to give for the app's iPad edition.
For one thing, Yelp for iPad is now said to be more streamlined and clearer.
Also, it now gives more emphasis on business photos. Before, as few as three photos are visible on a business page. Now, as many as seven are shown at a glance. What's more, you can quickly browse through these and the other photos using the new carousel view.
The new Yelp update also makes the app's search function more social. How so? Well, it now shows which of your friends are checked in to businesses right from the search results.
Moreover, the update adds a new indicator that lets you know whether a business will be closing soon or is just about to open. So, you wouldn't find yourself staring at a "closed" sign upon arriving at a business you thought would still be open.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later, the new version of Yelp is available now in the App Store for free.
The latest update to the app also carries support for showing your review first in the reviews list, updated reviews on iPad, and huge speed improvements on iPhone 5.
