Public Radio Player 3.0 Brings Remarkably Refreshed Interface And More
February 12, 2013
Just when you thought Public Radio Player for iOS had been left for dead, a new update for the app comes along.
After two years and two months of not receiving any update of any sort, Public Radio Player has finally received an update. And it's a decidedly substantial one, so substantial as to bring the PRX-developed radio app from version 2.1.5 to version 3.0.
Undoubtedly the most noticeable improvement brought by the update is the app's brand new design. Gone is the app's outdated tabbed interface, as it should be. In its stead is a refreshing high-contrast look that includes the sidebar navigation setup common among some of today's most popular apps.
Along with the new interface, Public Radio Player 3.0 introduces episode downloading for offline listening and viewing of station Twitter feeds and breaking news headlines.
Furthermore, the update delivers improved search results and improved access to favorite stations and programs. It also enhances the audio player for improved playback and stream reliability.
Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 5.1 or later, Public Radio Player 3.0 is available now in the App Store for free.
