Simpsons: Tapped Out Bug Affecting You Too?

February 21, 2013
We have received numerous reports in recent days that something is wrong with EA’s game, The Simpsons: Tapped Out. The issue seems to be server related and occurs immediately after the game loads. After a few seconds, a user is asked to log into EA’s Origin cloud services, where a player’s towns are stored. Eventually, The Simpsons: Tapped Out locks up, as the sound of a harp being strummed is heard. Called the Harp Freeze by users in EA’s forums, the issue seems to have started earlier this month, and then was quickly fixed. However, in recent days it has occurred again. The game’s support team have yet to formally address the issue. However, they did respond to one angry customer via Twitter, as you can see here. First released in February 2012, The Simpsons: Tapped Out is free to play. However, players must purchase donuts with real money to get through the game. Within weeks of launching, the game was pulled from the App Store by EA because company servers couldn't handle the millions of users. The game returned in August. If we hear anything more about this issue, we'll certainly let you know. In the meantime, has this happened to you?
