Break Out And Dig Against The Clock In Super Mole Escape's Time Trial Mode
March 9, 2013
Super Mole Escape has just dug up its first major update, which contains a new mode and a bunch of other new stuff.
Developed by Adult Swim, Super Mole Escape was released in August last year. Shortly after its launch, it earned an honorable mention from us here at AppAdvice as our Game of the Week.
As noted in our citation, Super Mole Escape is "an endless runner, not that much different from the classic Robot Unicorn Attack. Except this time, you’re going down (literally)."
And with the game's latest update, you can find out how far you can go down before you run out of time in the new Super Mole Escape time trial mode.
The new time trial mode has you digging through a fixed course in each of the six environment types. To help you beat the clock, two speed burst power-ups are at your disposal.

Speaking of power-ups, there's a new one in Super Mole Escape. The new power-up comes in the form of a laser that shoots ahead and behind you to destroy rocks, stop the warden, or obliterate enemies.
There's also a new Coal Factory stage and a new unlockable character named Gizmole. The new stage is filled with conveyor belts that can slow down or speed up your progress away from the warden. And as for Gizmole: "Once he gets going this speedy li'l clockwork mole can leave the warden in the dust with ease."
Also included in the new version of Super Mole Escape are new level layouts and new Game Center achievements and leaderboards for the time trial mode.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 4.3 or later, and now optimized for iPhone 5 and the fifth-generation iPod touch, the new version of Super Mole Escape is available now in the App Store for free.
