'Buggy' Match-Three Game Bugly Gets Fruity Update

March 10, 2013
Bugly, the "buggy" iOS match-three game I told you about when it was released over a year ago, has just received an update. In case you're not familiar with it, Bugly is not your typical match-three game. In the game, you can clear three or more pieces or, in Bugly's case, bugs of the same color only if they form a vertical chain. And in the game, you often have to create vertical chains by tapping and rotating the appropriate circles of bugs. As mentioned, Bugly has just gotten an update. And believe it or not, this is the game's first ever update. Yup. Bugly's first ever update is rather juicy as it brings a new Fruit graphics pack and a new Fruit Cocktail mode. The new Fruit graphics pack lets you play Bugly's classic mode with different kinds of fruits instead of googly-eyed bugs. That's in addition to the plain graphics pack, which lets you play with plain orbs. As for the new Fruit Cocktail mode, it challenges you to make chains of fruits that match the fruit cocktail recipes shown. It's like match-three meets Simon Says. Note that, while the Fruit graphics pack is free, the Fruit Cocktail mode is available via a $0.99 in-app purchase. Designed for iPhone and iPod touch, Bugly is currently available in the App Store for free. Believe it or not (again), the game is not yet optimized for iPhone 5 and the fifth-generation iPod touch. Let's hope an update that makes it so comes soon and not over a year later. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
