New Major Update Finds Its Way To StreetPilot Onboard App Garmin U.S.A.
March 20, 2013
Garmin U.S.A., one of Garmin's official StreetPilot Onboard apps for iPhone, has just received another feature-packed update.
The latest version of Garmin U.S.A. gives you the ability to broadcast voice instructions through your car's speakers. Note, though, that this new function requires your iPhone to be connected with your car's Bluetooth handsfree kit.
The newly updated app also includes a new map manager, enabling you to save storage space on your device by downloading only the maps that you need on the road.
Moreover, the new Garmin U.S.A. update effectively turns the app into a travel guide. How? By letting you download Wikipedia points of interest for free.
The update also introduces Garmin myTrends. Garmin myTrends is a "smart" new feature that learns from your driving habits. It then uses what it learns to automatically adjust routing and suggest destinations.
Also included in the update are the following improvements:
Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 5.1 or later, the new version of Garmin U.S.A. is available now in the App Store as a free update or as a new $39.99 download. Each of the other Garmin StreetPilot Onboard apps for iPhone has also received the same update as Garmin U.S.A. You can update to the new versions of Garmin N. America, Garmin Western Europe, and Garmin UK & Ireland now. Or download them in the App Store for $44.99, $64.99, and $49.99, respectively. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
