Qualcomm Could Be Supplying Chips For The Budget iPhone

March 8, 2013
Later this year, Apple could unveil what is being billed as a budget iPhone. This low-cost phone may come with chips made by Qualcomm, according to Macotakara. According to the report, the "iPhone mini" will feature a version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon system on a chip. If correct, this would represent a switch for Apple, which currently uses chips created by Samsung in the iPhone and iPad. The report is quick to note that this news only concerns the budget iPhone. As such, Apple has no plans to use the Snapdragon system on other iOS devices. A so-called iPhone mini could launch later this year and sell for around $199, according to the latest rumors.
