What’s the perfect companion to a custom LEGO dock for your iPhone 5? How about a larger version for any iPad with a Lightning connector.
The Daily Brick, a website based in the U.K., has just introduced a dock that is compatible with the iPad mini and fourth-generation tablet. Made of 79 different pieces, you must do a little handiwork and build the dock yourself with the provided instructions. You must also supply the Lightning cable.
But once you do, you’ll be able to stand your iPad up on a desk to charge or sync with a computer. Rubber grippers provide added back support to reduce stress on the smaller connector.
LEGO clips also hold the connector firmly inside the dock so it won’t move around during use. The dock is angled slightly backwards to make the iPad’s screen easier to see.
I ordered the same dock for the iPhone 5 when it hit the market last year, and it is easily still one of my favorite iOS device accessories ever. Even though I don’t really need another dock, I’m sure I’ll be handing over more of my money to The Daily Brick soon.
You can order the dock now directly from the site for around $29.
The LEGO Group and Belkin also announced earlier this year a partnership to produce authorized LEGO products for iOS devices starting this spring.
