Vine Competitor Cinemagram Updated With New Creation Layout And Social Tagging

March 3, 2013
The past few days saw the release of updates to a number of video sharing apps on iOS. First came the latest update to Vine, followed by the updates to Viddy and Socialcam. And now, here comes another update to Cinemagram. Released over a year ago, Cinemagram is an app that lets you make photo and video hybrid creations called "cines" (pronounced as "sin-ees," according to a dialog in the app). Late last January, Cinemagram gained a new feature called Shorts. Seemingly launched in response to the immediate popularity of the then just-released Vine, Cinemagram's Shorts feature allows for the combination of cines to create mini-movies. And now, Cinemagram has gained a new layout for the creation of cines, with one-tap access to color, speed, and masking options. Cinemagram has also gained support for tagging friends in comments and captions, thereby making the app a bit more social. The app's new update also mentions added support for verifying accounts: "Get Verified! Verify your account today to get a cinemagram verified badge." I haven't been able to find out how to do so, though. Or perhaps the option to verify accounts is offered to users who are at risk of impersonation. Any tips? Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 5.0 or later, the new version of Cinemagram is available now in the App Store for free. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
