Your Address Book Comes Alive With Cobook's New Livecard Feature
Released in December last year, Cobook Contacts has now been updated to version 2.0. Cobook 2.0 essentially introduces only one new feature. But this single new feature is decidedly significant. It's called Livecard. And it enables you to share your contact info with others and, in turn, automatically complete your address book with their contact info. Unfortunately for us Facebook-averse folks, this new feature requires logging in with Facebook. Fortunately, good old email login is coming soon. After logging in, you can begin creating your Livecard. Livecard is a special sort of business card whose contents can be shared with people you're connected to on Cobook. In return, you get the current email, phone number, and other info of the people you're connected to. What's more, these can be added automatically to your iDevice's Contacts. As the Cobook team notes in a blog post, "Your address book data is not captured in any way and never leaves your phone. Only the info you choose to share via Livecard is securely stored on our servers." Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 5.0 or later, Cobook Contacts 2.0 is available now in the App Store for free. In her review of the app, Christine concluded that Cobook is "a great alternative to the default Contacts app on iPhone. It integrates all of the main social networks that you want to pull data from for your friends, family, and coworkers, and presents it all in a slick interface, complete with a dialer." Now with Livecard, Cobook has just become an even better alternative to the default Contacts app, and perhaps to such rival apps as Addappt and Smartr Contacts as well.
