Great news, Angry Birds fans. The latest application in Rovio's popular mobile game series, Angry Birds Friends, is set to launch in the App Store this Thursday, May 2, 2013. From what we've heard, the forthcoming application puts a fun, social spin on the classic pig-launching app. The news hit the Web in a Twitter update from @AngryBirds, which included the following text along with the above image:
Angry Birds Friends will be available on mobile THIS THURSDAY! http://twitpic.com/cmvyof #AngryBirdsFriendsBesides Apple's iOS, Angry Birds Friends will also launch on Android smartphones this Thursday. Angry Birds Friends provides users with the classic Angry Birds experience, while combining the addictive game with a series of social features that integrate with Facebook. In the app, users can challenge friends via the social network, participate in weekly tournaments, and send and receive rewards. For more information on the forthcoming application, take a look at the below video, which offers a demonstration of the "Pig Tales" episode in the Angry Birds Friends Facebook app. We'll let you know once the application launches in the App Store.
