Find What’s Happening Near You With The Updated Now App

If you’re sitting around needing something interesting to do, look no further than the Now app for the iPhone.
Tapping sources like Instagram and Vine, the app is designed to show cool events happening near you. You can also personalize the experience to see where your friends are and what they are doing.
And the app has just been updated to version 3.0 that is highlighted by a major redesign. First up, the new version introduces videos to the equation, letting you see what’s happening in full motion.
Also, you can save an interesting location to always know what’s happening at that spot.
Finally, the update brings a social activity heat map that shows you visually where all of the action is.

Now is designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and can be downloaded now in the App Store for free.
Even though I only spent a few minutes with Now, I think it has a lot of potential, especially in large cities. While there wasn’t much going on around me on a Monday afternoon in Dallas, I suspect that will change by the weekend.
