Path, the service that seeks to provide a more "personal" social networking experience, now has more than 10 million users. The news comes just one month after the social network's iOS app received a major update to version 3.0, and was announced in a Twitter update posted by Path's co-founder and CEO Dave Morin.
Here's the tweet:
10 Million! (at @path) [pic] — path.com/p/2jXRX3 — Dave Morin (@davemorin) April 29, 2013In recent months, Path for iOS has received new sticker packs, hashtag support, and has even been involved in a privacy issue or two. Despite the latter mishaps, however, the social network is reportedly adding 1 million users per week, and currently has a valuation of more than $250 million. Indeed, to pass the 10 million-user-milestone is certainly an impressive feat. If you're not familiar with Path, the service allows users to share information such as photos, check-ins, and more with a relatively small group made up of friends and family. At the minute, the social network's universal application, Path for iOS, is available to download in the App Store free of charge.
