So Long And Thanks For All The Tweets: TweetDeck For iPhone Set To Fold On May 7

April 20, 2013
If you'll recall, it was announced early last month that the iPhone, Android, and AIR versions of the popular Twitter client TweetDeck would be terminated. "They will be removed from their respective app stores in early May," wrote the TweetDeck team in a blog post. Today, a definite date has been announced for the planned termination: May 7. In an update to its original blog post, the TweetDeck team states:
TweetDeck AIR, TweetDeck for Android and TweetDeck for iPhone will be removed from their respective app stores and will stop functioning on May 7. Our Facebook integration will also stop on May 7.
TweetDeck was acquired by Twitter back in May 2011, resulting in the app's rebranding into TweetDeck by Twitter and expansion as native desktop and Web apps. While TweetDeck for iPhone, Android, and AIR will soon be no more, TweetDeck's Mac, PC, and Web apps will continue to be available, minus Facebook integration, that is. On the other hand, Posterous, the blogging platform acquired by Twitter in March last year, will be shut down on April 30. Are you a TweetDeck for iPhone user?
