Tap, Flick And Swipe To Save The Light In Lumos: The Dying Light

April 21, 2013
Lumos: The Dying Light is a new arcade game that has just been released in the App Store. Unfortunately, the game has nothing to do with Harry Potter, whose signature spells include the light-summoning "Lumos!" Fortunately, though, Lumos: The Dying Light is spellbinding in its own right, thanks in no small part to its atmospheric graphics, spooky soundtrack, and addictive gameplay. As stated in its rather short App Store description, this is how Lumos: The Dying Light's premise goes:
When light itself is near extinction, the creatures of the night come to take its place. Defend the light with taps, swipes, and flicks in this spine-chilling game that will make you fear the dark.
Lumos: The Dying Light, which appears to be a combination of Asteroid and Tilt to Live, is essentially a survival game. At the center of the game screen is the dying light of the title, which you must sustain by tapping on photons and defend by swiping and flicking the nocturnal creatures that seek to subdue it. To help you on your light-saving quest, power-ups may pop up now and then. Alternatively, you can just purchase them in the in-game store. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, Lumos: The Dying Light is available now in the App Store for free. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
