'Collaborative Instagram' App Pixplit Updated With Private Instant Photo Messaging
May 22, 2013
Pixplit, the photo-sharing app that appears to be a hybrid of PicFrame and Instagram, has just been updated to version 2.0.
Released in October last year, Pixplit lets you create photo collages with your friends and followers. Simply select a split frame, fill one slot with your photo, add a filter and border, and send your photo collage or "split" out into the world for others to complete.
Or in the case of Pixplit 2.0, you yourself can now complete any or all of the slots of your own photo collage. Just tap the "Join" button in an empty slot in your split to fill it with your own photos and re-share it with your followers.
That's all well and good, but arguably a more interesting addition brought by Pixplit 2.0 is private instant photo messaging.
That's right. Pixplit now has an integrated instant messenger. And in this messenger, you can collaborate on private splits. So, not only can you communicate with instant chat messages, but you can also communicate with instant photo collages in Pixplit.
Of course, Pixplit 2.0 also includes bug fixes and performance enhancements.
Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 5.0 or later, Pixplit 2.0 is available now in the App Store for free.
