Scanner Pro By Readdle Gains Real-Time Border Detection For Faster Scanning
May 21, 2013
Scanner Pro by Readdle has just received an update that seeks to make scanning faster and easier.
The latest update to Scanner Pro introduces real-time border detection. And I must say that this new feature is pretty neat.
With this feature, borders are now automatically detected in real time when scanning with your iDevice's camera. Even as you're moving your device to get a good shot of the object you're scanning, Scanner Pro dynamically detects and indicates the borders.
This way, even while in the process of scanning, you already get a clear idea of exactly what area is recognized and eventually scanned.
This also eliminates the need to manually adjust borders and crop scanned images. Consequently, real-time border detection is recommended for use especially in batch mode. Introduced to Scanner Pro late last October, batch mode allows for scanning of multiple pages at a time.
Of course, if, for some reason, you'd still rather go with manual border adjustment and cropping, you can disable real-time border detection in the app's settings section.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later, the new version of Scanner Pro by Readdle is available now in the App Store as a free update or as a new $6.99 download.
