The Zombie Apocalypse Is Drawing Nigh: Official 'World War Z' Game Coming To iOS
May 17, 2013
Apparently, with the summer blockbuster movie season comes the proliferation of summer blockbuster movie tie-in games on iOS. There is, for example, Iron Man 3 - The Official Game, which was released a few weeks ago. There's also the newly released Fast & Furious 6: The Game. And soon, the official iOS game of "World War Z" is coming our way.
"World War Z" is an upcoming apocalyptic horror film featuring Brad Pitt and zombies … lots and lots of zombies.
Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Max Brooks, "World War Z" is distributed by Paramount Pictures, which partnered with Horn developer Phosphor Games for the film's official mobile game.

The game, which looks to be a first-person zombie combat game, is powered by Unreal Engine 3.
"We were excited to be able to use the cutting-edge Unreal Engine 3 to bring World War Z to life,” Phosphor Games Studio Director Chip Sineni said in a statement to IGN. "Our goal was to build Paramount a AAA game, and with that came all our favorite bells and whistles, like ambient occlusion lighting, multipass blended textures, and hordes of enemies to fight."
Details for the game are scarce at the moment. But it's said to break out into the App Store on May 30, three weeks ahead of the theatrical release of "World War Z."
