Twitter’s Official iOS App Now Features Location-Based Trends

May 1, 2013
For the second time in less than a month, Twitter has introduced an update for its official iOS app. The biggest improvement in version 5.6 is the ability to view trends in hundreds of locations across the world. Users can now also invite friends to join Twitter from within the app, which is a very nice idea. And just a day after the Vine iOS app received an update, Twitter now features improved playback of videos from the social network. Along with the usual number of bug fixes and other small improvements, replies to retweeted tweets include both the author and the person who retweeted the information. Twitter is a universal app for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. It can be downloaded in the App Store now for free. Last week, the official Twitter client for the Mac was also updated with support for the Retina display of the newer MacBook Pros and other improvements.
