One of the most unique weather apps in the App Store, swackett X, has just been updated to add some fun new features.
The biggest improvement in version 1.0.4 of the app is easily the addition of two new indexes. Along with a Sun/UV index, the app also adds a Dog Walking Index to tell you whether it’s actually a nice time to go and walk Fido.
Finally, along with various performance enhancements, the app now features improved support for interactive peeps. No, the peeps in the app aren’t the tasty marshmallow kind. The peeps in swackett X are easily understood visual weather reports. For example, if it’s a hot day, the peep will be wearing shorts and sunglasses.
The peeps are crafted using a combination of current conditions, radar, and detailed forecasts.
There are two versions of swackett available to download for the iPhone/iPod touch. Swackett X, the paid version, is $1.99 and is ad-free.
The free version, simply called swackett, can also be downloaded in the App Store now. If you download the free version and want to disable to ads, you can do so with a $1.99 in-app purchase.
