Analyst Still Believes That An 'iRing' Powered Apple Television Is Coming This Year

June 4, 2013
In April, Topeka Capital analyst Brian White said that Apple’s so-called “iTV” would come with an “iRing” controller. Two months later, the analyst is sticking to his story, according to Business Insider. According to White, Apple will release a full-blown television by the end of 2013. He says that this device “will use motion controlling and could use an 'iRing' to improve accuracy of the motion control.” White also believes that AT&T and Verizon may both be brought onboard to subsidize the television. This would allow users to have one bill for both TV and mobile device services. The analyst also contends that the Apple television will include a “mini iTV” screen about the same size as an iPad. This component is said to allow users to view content on a smaller screen. Although the size of that screen, 9.7-inches, matches that of the iPad, it won’t have the same capabilities. Besides entertainment, the screen could also be used for home security, phone calls, video conferencing, and more. I have no doubt that Apple is prepping an iTV. However, I really can't see Apple releasing a ring that works as a TV controller device. Could it happen? Of course it could. However, I think that it is highly unlikely.
