Sprint Expands Its 4G LTE Network To Add 22 New Markets

Though AT&T has recently been hard at work expanding its 4G LTE network, Sprint, the No. 3 iPhone carrier in the United States, is also in the process of gradually increasing its own super-fast cellular data service. Recently, Sprint launched its 4G LTE network in an additional 22 U.S. markets, while expanding its service in several areas. As noted in a press release issued by the carrier, Sprint's 4G LTE network is now available in the following new markets:
  • Baton Rouge, La.
  • Centralia, Wash.
  • Clarksville, Tenn.
  • Corsicana, Texas
  • Dalton, Ga.
  • Dunn, N.C.
  • Fond du Lac, Wis.
  • Gainesville, Fla.
  • Henderson, N.C.
  • Kingsport, Tenn.
  • Lansing/East Lansing, Mich.
  • Longview, Wash.
  • Miami, Fla.
  • Napa, Calif.
  • New Orleans, La.
  • Palatka, Fla.
  • Raleigh, N.C.
  • Sebring, Fla.
  • St. Cloud, Minn.
  • St. Joseph/Benton Harbor, Mich.
  • Tampa, Fla.
  • Warsaw, Ind.
However, if your town or city isn't covered by Sprint's 4G LTE network, you nevertheless may be in luck. In its press release, the carrier adds that a number of further markets will receive coverage in the coming months, including:
  • Grand Rapids, Mich.
  • Aberdeen, Wash.
  • Allegan, Mich.
  • Ann Arbor, Mich.
  • Battle Creek, Mich.
  • Corpus Christi, Texas
  • Eagle Pass, Texas
  • Flint, Mich.
  • Laredo, Texas
  • Marshfield/Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.
  • Mount Pleasant, Mich.
  • Oak Harbor, Wash.
  • Watertown/Fort Atkinson, Wis.
Finally, Sprint has improved its 4G LTE service in a number of additional locations nationwide. Currently, the No. 3 iPhone carrier is serving 110 4G LTE markets across the United States, and expects to provide its super-fast cellular data network to more than 200 million subscribers by the end of 2013. Bob Azzi, senior vice president of Network at Sprint, said: "Today’s announcement means that more Americans will experience the speed and power of Sprint 4G LTE. Sprint is committed to delivering the latest technology through a nationwide LTE buildout, and providing new cell sites that are more compact and energy efficient. Our network build with new 3G and 4G LTE not only provides improved wireless service, it is also expected to reduce Sprint's total energy demand and the company’s carbon footprint."
