Carcassonne Update Adds Long-Awaited Game Analysis Tools

July 3, 2013
Hot on the heels of its third anniversary in the App Store, popular board game Carcassonne is getting even better. The game has recently been updated to version 3.11 that adds a pair of new features while fixing a host of other issues. Most importantly, the update ushers in a game analysis mode. The feature allows players to drill down into scoring after the game is complete. Gamers can then use the feature to see exactly what field cost them the game and who is to blame. The other new addition shows a detailed overview of scores during a game. Developer TheCodingMonkeys said the additions have long been requested by fans of the title:
"We listened to our community and added one of the most requested features", says Dominik Wagner, one of the "Silverbacks" at TheCodingMonkeys. "Keeping track of scoring can be quite challenging, especially in big games with multiple expansions. The new features make it easy to stay on top of things while you play or to gain insight in a post-game analysis."
Carcassonne is a universal app designed for both the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. It can be downloaded now in the App Store for $9.99. And the developer isn’t standing pat with the most recent update of the game. Plans are already in development for the next expansion of the title.
