Cydia Tweak: YouSearch For NC Puts A YouTube Search Field In Notification Center

Another great way to search YouTube is available in the Cydia store now. YouSearch for NC adds a small YouTube search field to Notification Center. Instead of launching Safari and navigating to YouTube, this widget helps simplify the process.
Once installed, you’ll need to move this Notification Center widget into the active widgets within the Settings app. After you’ve done that, there are no options to configure. Pull down the notification center to reveal a small search field labeled with the YouTube icon.
Tap on the “Search on YouTube” field to begin typing. Once you’ve entered a search query, press the “return” key. Safari will launch and load YouTube’s mobile site right to the results of any search term.
The only feature I would add to YouSearch is the ability to launch the YouTube app instead of Safari. I’m not sure how easy this would be to implement, but if it’s possible, an option could be added to the Settings app to switch between launching the YouTube app and Safari.
Other than that, YouSearch for NC provides an easy way to quickly search for a YouTube video just about anywhere within iOS via Notification Center. If you’re interested in this tweak, it’s available for free in the ModMyi repository.
