Microsoft Unveils Major Update For OneNote Apps

July 1, 2013
After more than 18 months without an update, Microsoft has just unveiled version 2.0 of its OneNote apps for iOS devices. First up, the iPhone version is finally optimized for the iPhone 5 display, almost a year after the handset’s launch. Also, updated navigation makes it easier for users to view and find notes. Along with the ability to edit existing tables, users can now take advantage of improved note formatting and consistency across devices. Thankfully, ink annotations and rich text formatting are also viewable with the update. Finally, notes can be synced with both SkyDrive Pro and SharePoint. On the iPad side, the app features the familiar Office Ribbon UI to make it easier to format and design notes. Tables can be created and edited with the update. And thanks to the bigger tablet screen, the iPad version also features a full-page view that allows notes to fill the entire screen. Here’s a quick promo video about the new version. After finally introducing an Office app in mid-June, the company unveiled a SkyDrive Pro app on Friday. On the gaming side, Microsoft also confirmed last week that Age of Empires will be hitting the App Store in March 2014.
