Plants Vs. Zombies Comics Out Now On iOS, Download The First Issue For Free

July 19, 2013
Plants vs. Zombies, the wildly popular lane-based defense game created by PopCap, has just invaded the world of comics with the release of Plants vs Zombies Comics. Plants vs Zombies Comics comes as a result of a partnership between PopCap and Dark Horse Comics. It's available now on iOS as a comic book app that collects current and future issues of the official digital comic book adaptation of the game:
PopCap’s immensely popular Plants vs. Zombies video game finally gets the plant-filled, zombie-zapping comics treatment it deserves! Young adventurers Patrice Blazing and Nate Timely fend off a “fun-dead” neighborhood invasion in Plants vs. Zombies: Lawnmageddon! Winner of over 30 Game of the Year awards, Plants vs. Zombies is now determined to shuffle into the realm of comics to tickle funny bones and thrill . . . brains.
The series, which promises "a hilarious, all-ages, action-packed zombie romp," is written by Paul Tobin of "Marvel Adventures" and "Falling Skies" fame. It's penciled and inked by Ron Chan, known for "The Guild" and "Husbands." Plants vs Zombies Comics is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later. The app initially contains the first issue free of charge and offers future issues via in-app purchase as they become available. Plants vs Zombies Comics comes ahead of the official worldwide release of Plants vs. Zombies 2, which was soft-launched by PopCap last week in Australia and New Zealand.
