Popular News App Prismatic Becomes More Fantastic Following Major Redesign
July 20, 2013
Prismatic has just undergone a fantastic makeover.
Released in August last year, the highly rated news app was reviewed here on AppAdvice by my colleague Christine, who noted:
What I really like about Prismatic is the way it is designed. It’s a simple and pristine interface that hides the standard iOS chrome, making it easier to read content.Prismatic has just received an update, and that update significantly changes the way the app was designed. To be sure, the app's interface remains "simple and pristine," but its new design is decidedly cleaner and fresher. I must say that I'm liking Prismatic's new interface, right from its neat visuals and typography down to its improvements in user interaction. The newly updated Prismatic also features a new toolbar at the bottom of each story. This toolbar allows for easier favoriting of stories and sharing of the same via email, Twitter, or Facebook. It also lets you save stories for reading later with a single tap. To view your saved stories, just swipe to the right to bring the app's sidebar menu into view, tap "More" opposite "Activity," and select the "Saved" option. The new toolbar also makes for smarter recommendation as it lets you remove stories you don't like from your stream just by taping the "X" button. Also including the obligatory bug fixes, the new and improved version of Prismatic is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 5.0 or later.
