Tango Messaging App Updated With Profile Creation, Nearby User Search And More

July 16, 2013
Tango has just been issued a significant update that adds profile creation, nearby user search, and a couple of other enhancements. In the new version of the popular WhatsApp rival messaging app developed by TangoMe, you can now create your very own Tango profile, which you can set to be viewable by your friends only or by the entire Tango community. Just tap the My Profile option in the Friends tab to edit your status, profile picture, header photo, birthday, and gender. In your profile, you can also post photos for others to see. The latest update to Tango also lets you find and connect with other Tango members nearby. In the Friends tab, tap Make Friends Nearby to load the photos of nearby users sorted by proximity, in grid or list view. You can filter the view to show men or women only. Just tap a photo to see the corresponding user's profile, from which you can send him or her a private message. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. The newly updated Tango also invites you to check out and challenge your Tango friends with the new social games running on the Tango platform, including Bubblegum Interactive's Jetpack Jinx and Gameloft's Candy Block Breaker. In addition, the app now lets you share and send photos during a call without having to disconnect. The new version of Tango is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later. Equipped with VOiP support in addition to instant messaging, Tango is included in AppAdvice’s AppGuide for Video Calling. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
