It's been more than three weeks now, but Apple's Developer services are finally back online following a hack-induced outage. To compensate developers for the lost time, Apple has also announced that it is offering all users a free one-month extension of their Developer account subscriptions.
In an email sent to registered developers, Apple explained:
We are pleased to let you know that all our developer program services are now online. Your patience during this time was sincerely appreciated. We understand that the downtime was significant and apologize for any issues it may have caused in your app development. To help offset this disruption, we are extending the membership of all developer teams by one month. If you need any further assistance, please contact us.As a reminder, Apple's Developer services first suffered downtime in July, and it was soon revealed that an "intruder" was responsible for the disruption. Certain services came back online soon after, however registered developers will be pleased to see that they can now access all aspects of Apple's Developer portal. We'll keep you updated with further information as we receive it.
