Kid Tripp Updated With Full-Screen Support, Control Scheme Flipping And More

August 11, 2013
The challenging and ultimately rewarding pixelated iOS platformer Kid Tripp has just hopped onto its first update. Kid Tripp was released at the end of last month, shortly after which it was given an AppAdvice Game of the Week honorable mention. And now, Kid Tripp has just received its first update, which, perhaps most importantly, renders the game properly on iPhone 5 and iPad. That is to say, Kid Tripp is now displayed in full screen on those devices, as opposed to having a vertical bar on either side to compensate for its deficiency in aspect ratio. Another improvement brought by the update has to do with the game's control scheme. In her review of Kid Tripp here on AppAdvice, Christine noted:
While most of Kid Tripp is like your traditional platformer, the controls work a bit differently. Rather than have you control Kid through the use of a digital d-pad, you will be running automatically, so the moving part is taken care of. The only thing you need to worry about are the jumps and attack, which is throwing rocks in this game. To jump, tap on the left side of the screen; to throw rocks (you can easily spam this to make things easier), tap on the right.
If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Now, there's a new option to invert the control scheme. So, if, like me, you're more comfortable with having to tap on the right side of the screen to jump and on the left side to throw rocks, then this new option is the way to go. Also including some minor improvements and bug fixes, the new version of Kid Tripp is available now in the App Store as a free update or as a new $0.99 download. The game is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.1 or later. The newly updated Kid Tripp also features new tutorial screens, sharing of endgame stats via Twitter, and skipping of credits upon completion of the game. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
