Speed-Reading App ReadQuick Updated With iPhone Support And More

August 21, 2013
ReadQuick, the aptly named app that helps you read quicker by letting you read one word at a time at a set pace, has just received another major update. Released for iPad nearly a year ago, ReadQuick is an app that facilitates speed-reading. As noted by Christine in her "hidden gem" review of the app here on AppAdvice, "if you want to train yourself to speed-read through material, then this app does a wonderful job." With ReadQuick, you can "read quick" as you read through your saved articles in Instapaper or Pocket, or through any other article that you find in the in-app browser. You can also read featured articles from the app's content partners. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. As mentioned, ReadQuick has just received a new major update. This new update happens to be the app's long-overdue universal update, as it adds iPhone and iPod touch compatibility to the otherwise iPad-only app. The update also includes TechHive and Macworld in the app's featured sources, in addition to The Morning News, Longreads, The Feature, Talking Points Memo, GigaOm, and Techmeme. Furthermore, the update brings various UI improvements and improved authentication for Instapaper. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later, the new version of ReadQuick is available now in the App Store as a free update or as a new $4.99 download.
