This Week In Accessories: Cushion Wrap Case From The iPhone 5, Kevo And More

August 2, 2013
Welcome back to This Week in Accessories. In this edition, we’re highlighting six great accessories that have hit the market recently.

Cushion Wrap Case for the iPhone 5 from Adopted

Pairing a metallic frame with upholstered panels of stain-resistant silicone, Adopted has recently introduced a stylish case choice for the iPhone 5 - the Cushion Wrap. Available in a number of colors, including black, red, green, orange, dark blue, light blue, pink, white, silver, and slate, the case retails for $49.99. It can be ordered directly through the company’s site now.

Kevo from Kwikset

First unveiled back in early May, the Bluetooth-powered Kevo lock from Kwikset can now be preordered with shipping to begin in September. Using the free Kevo app, your iOS device is an electronic key that allows the deadbolt to open with a simple finger touch. The lock is powered by 4AA batteries, which should last for around a year. You can preorder the lock now at retailers including Amazon.com and Home Depot for $219. The deadbolt is available in three different finishes – Satin Nickel, Venetian Bronze, and Polished Brass. The package comes with the deadbolt, one fob, and two mechanical keys.

Viper Courier from booq

Expanding its Fibre Collection, booq has just introduced the Viper Courier bag. Sitting in between the computer sleeve and slim bag form factor, the Viper Courier is made from natural, water-repellant fiber that has been organically dyed. Along with a place to store a laptop, the bag also has a number of storage pockets, including a concealed quick-access slot for an iPhone. The bag is available in two different versions on booq’s site. The $99.95 bag, for a 13-inch Mac or PC, will ship starting in two weeks on Friday, August 15. The larger $109.85 bag, which ships now, can hold up to a 15-inch laptop.

Props Repel Case from Digital Treasures

While there are more than a few waterproof case options for the full-sized iPad, the Props Repel case from Digital Treasure seems to be an interesting choice. The full folio case is IPX8 certified, meaning your tablet should be protected in up to an impressive 33 feet of water. The front cover of the case also doubles as a stand that provides two different media viewing angles. Only available in black, the case retails for $49.95 and can be preordered from Digital Treasures now.

Astro3 from Anker

Featuring a massive 12,000 mAH cell and three USB ports, the second-generation Astro3 external battery from Anker is now available. Thanks to smart charging technology, one port can automatically identify the type of device plugged in, adjusting to deliver the fastest charging speed possible. By simply shaking the Astro3, users can see how much battery life is left on the LED display. At its top capacity, the cell can recharge a dead iPhone anywhere from six to seven times. The Astro3 can now be purchased from Amazon.com for a very reasonable $49.99.

CrossLink from id America

If you hate carrying around a number of charging cords for different devices, id America has just introduced an interesting solution with the CrossLink. The 3-foot cable contains a Lightning, micro-USB, and 30-pin connector. The cable, which comes in pink, green, blue, yellow, black, and white, retails for $17.95 and can be purchased through id America now.
