Bombcats Special Edition: The Same Great Bombcats Gameplay But With No IAP

Radiangames, in partnership with Chillingo, has just relaunched Bombcats by releasing Bombcats Special Edition.
To be sure, Bombcats remains in the App Store as a free-to-play title. But the new Bombcats Special Edition offers the great physics-based gameplay of Bombcats with one notable and desirable omission. Unlike the original Bombcats, Bombcats Special Edition does not offer in-app purchases.
The free-to-play Bombcats happens to be, in the words of Radiangames' Luke Schneider, "too generous with everything" and even "more generous than many paid games." In a blog post published a few days after Bombcats' launch in the App Store last May, Schneider lamented:
I tried to make a fairly unique, very high-quality physics puzzle game, and I think I succeeded very well there. But in terms of making money from it, I tried to straddle a line (F2P but fair) and it’s failing financially as a result.If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. So, Radiangames set out to come out with a paid yet IAP-free edition of Bombcats with slightly tweaked game balancing. The result is Bombcats Special Edition. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later, Bombcats Special Edition is available now in the App Store for $0.99.
