One new iOS application promises to put iDevice users inside a huge, rotating particle accelerator, and to set them off on the search for an elusive subatomic particle called Boson X.
Taking more than a healthy dose of inspiration from CERN's work on the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the app, which is also called Boson X, is set to launch on Sept. 26 for iOS. In the game, players must keep on-track while running endlessly along the inside of a particle accelerator; the random rotation and changing platforms of the accelerator, however, make this a difficult task.
The application's developer explains:
Quantum jump from planck to planck as you hit critical velocity in Boson X, a new rotational runner from Mu & Heyo. Use precise timing and fast reflexes to navigate a subatomic world where floors and ceilings don't exist. Will you be fast enough to discover the mysterious Boson X?Features include:
Below, we've included a trailer video for Boson X. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twGg4Bihh1U&feature=player_embedded
- Fast-paced, unforgiving gameplay
- Six distinct procedurally generated levels to master
- No superfluous powerups, coins or XP systems - just deadly serious scientific research
- Simple, precise controls on iOS - no swiping or tilting
- Discover the principles of each level by repeated experimentation and observation
