China Mobile iPhone Posters Appear Online, Launch Expected In The Coming Months

September 26, 2013
China Mobile posters advertising the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c have surfaced online, indicating that a deal between China's largest carrier and the Cupertino, Calif. company is almost complete. The above poster, which reached us from Unwired View and appeared online recently, advertises the maximum 100MB per second download speeds supported by the iPhone. Indeed, Apple's handsets gained certification with China Mobile's wireless standard not long ago, and both smartphones are known to support the network's TD-LTE band. As such, all that remains is for China Mobile to secure permission from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) to use this TD-LTE band for commercial use. Though this is expected to be secured by the end of the year, recent reports have indicated that permission could be granted as early as mid-October. China Mobile's 4G network would then launch in November, sources claim. If this is the case, iPhone sales in the world's most populous nation are surely set to soar. We'll keep you updated with further information as we receive it.
