Designed For iOS 7, Kurrency Is An Extremely Simple Currency Conversion App

September 28, 2013
Here's another app that you can file under "does one thing and does it really well": Kurrency. As its name suggests, Kurrency is a currency converter. "Kurrency allows you to convert almost all the currencies of the world into your national currency," its rather brief App Store description states. "All this with an amazing design and a really user-friendly interface." Indeed, Kurrency is touted as the first currency conversion app that sports an iOS 7-inspired design. Small wonder then that Apple has included Kurrency in its special "Designed for iOS 7" section in the App Store. And true to its design influence, Kurrency keeps things extremely simple. For one thing, there are only two screens in the app: the main conversion screen and the auxiliary currency selection screen. In the main screen, you can convert from one currency to another just by entering any amount. You can tap the bidirectional arrow icon to swap the currencies and effectively reverse the direction of conversion. To go to the auxiliary screen, just tap either of the two currency symbols in the main screen. You can then select a different currency by scrolling through the alphabetical list or simply by searching for a specific country or currency. Of course, Kurrency requires an Internet connection in order to download the latest currency rates. But according to its App Store description, Kurrency is able to perform conversions whether online or offline. However, this doesn't seem to be the case as I haven't been able to convert any amount in the absence of an Internet connection. At any rate, Kurrency is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 7.0 or later. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
