Apple Updates App Store With New Section Featuring Apps That Are 'Designed For iOS 7'
September 19, 2013
In celebration of the launch of the latest version of its mobile operating system, Apple has added a new section in the App Store highlighting a number of apps that have been, as the section's title states, "Designed for iOS 7."
The new section can be accessed through the new front-and-center banner in the App Store app on iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, as well as in the App Store section of iTunes Store on desktop.
It highlights about 50 apps that have been designed, either just recently or way before the release of iOS 7, to match the look and feel of the new operating system. They can be sorted by name, release date, or "featured."
Among the apps in the new section are ones that we've covered today on account of their iOS 7 updates, including Facebook, Yahoo, eBay, Shazam, Pocket, and Twitterrific 5.
Following the release of iOS 7, the App Store has also been refreshed to feature, in place of the previous "New & Noteworthy" section, the "Best New Apps" and the "Best New Games."
The former includes Apple's newly redesigned Apple Store app, and the latter includes the newly released Infinity Blade III and Angry Birds Star Wars II. These two highly anticipated game sequels are also featured as this week's Editors' Choices in the App Store.
