Apple has once again emailed customers of its MobileMe service, informing them that the 20GB of complimentary cloud storage offered back when MobileMe closed its virtual doors is finally set to expire on Sept. 30.
The news comes following a series of further reminders sent by Apple. As we explained last month:
Apple was set to close down MobileMe’s cloud storage exactly one year earlier, before pushing the deadline back. This time round, however, we’re not sure MobileMe users will be so lucky, and as such iDevice owners are advised to transfer their data to iCloud in advance of the September 30 deadline.Do remember that while music, movies, apps, books, TV shows, and Photo Stream don't use up iCloud storage, the free 5GB offered by Apple isn't enough for some backups. Additional storage is offered, albeit for a price:
If MobileMe customers don't alter their iCloud accounts accordingly, backups, Documents in the Cloud, and iCloud email will be unavailable until the necessary changes have been made.
