Infuse Improves Its AirPlay Support With Subtitles Streaming
September 8, 2013
A month ago, Infuse was updated with AirPlay support, allowing you to stream various video types on your big screen. Now, the multiformat iOS video player from FireCore, the team behind the popular aTV Flash software for jailbroken Apple TVs, has beefed up its AirPlay integration with its latest update.
First, the newly updated Infuse now lets you stream subtitles along with video when using AirPlay. FireCore notes in a new blog post:
Now, with just a few taps you can add subtitles from OpenSubtitles to videos and stream them to your TV. You can even pick and choose from the available subtitles right on the Apple TV! It just works. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Second, Infuse now lets you AirPlay in the background. As a result, you can now continue using AirPlay even when switching to other apps on your iDevice. You can now also display movie artwork on the lock screen and toggle Dolby Digital audio when using AirPlay. Apart from bringing these AirPlay integration enhancements, the latest update to Infuse also improves playback of some 1080p content, reduces the app download by as much as 30 percent, and delivers various bug fixes and performance optimizations. The new version of Infuse is available now in the App Store as a free update or as a new $4.99 download. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later.
