Take Note: You Can Now Easily Digitize Your Post-It Notes With Evernote For iOS

September 27, 2013
Post-it Notes, meet Evernote. A convergence of the analog and the digital has just taken place as Evernote for iOS has just been updated to support Post-it Notes. "For us at Evernote, Post-it® Notes are a Hero Product," says the Evernote team in a new blog post. "We strive for the sort of flexible, instantly-understandable usefulness that draws hundreds of millions of people to purchase Post-it® Brand products. There is one drawback. As ubiquitous as they are, they’re also, well, attached to stuff. That’s where Evernote comes in." Specifically, that's where the latest version of Evernote for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad comes in. The iOS app has just received an update that adds the new Post-it Note camera. This new feature enables you to snap photos of Post-it Notes and digitize the handwritten to-dos and ideas they contain, with the ability to search through handwritten text in their digital reproductions. What's more, as you take photos of Post-it Notes, you can automatically assign notebooks, tags, and reminders to four popular paper colors: electric blue, electric yellow, limeade, and neon pink. In addition to launching the Post-it Note camera in its official iOS app, Evernote has released specially branded Post-It Note packs and Post-it Note holders. The Evernote Post-It Note packs, which bear the green Evernote stipe and come with one month of Evernote Premium, are available at select Staples retails stores and online through Staples.com, Officemax.com, Officedepot.com, and Quill.com. The Evernote Post-it Note holders, on the other hand, are available now for preorder for October shipment through the newly launched Evernote Market. The Evernote Market lets you shop for technology and lifestyle products made by Evernote in partnership with different creative companies and designers. It's accessible now on the Web and in Evernote for iOS. Also including various bug fixes, the new version of Evernote for iOS is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later. It was updated and redesigned for iOS 7 a week ago, on the same day the new operating system was released.
