Twitter #Music Now Shows The Tweets That Put The Tracks In Your #NowPlaying Feed

September 7, 2013
Twitter #music, the tweet-powered music discovery app from none other than Twitter, has just received a small yet significant update. "We've put the Twitter into Twitter #music!" proclaims Twitter in the update's release note. "Your #NowPlaying feed now shows Tweets along with each track and now lets you Reply to, Retweet, Favorite, Email or Message the Tweet. Get cracking!" This means that you no longer have to puzzle over who among your Twitter friends tweeted about which track in your #NowPlaying feed. For example, looking at my current #NowPlaying feed, I instantly notice the hot pink thumbnail for "Beez In The Trap" by @NickiMinaj. Now, I wonder who among the people I follow tweeted about it. Well, I just tap the thumbnail and the original tweet mentioning the song is displayed, revealing that my colleague Daniel is the one responsible for the song's placement in my #NowPlaying feed. In addition to displaying the original tweet for a #NowPlaying track, the newly updated Twitter #music now lets you reply to, retweet, or favorite the tweet. Furthermore, it now lets you share the track via text, email, clipboard, or Twitter #music itself. Indeed, Twitter has been put right into Twitter #music. The new version of Twitter #music is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later. Twitter #music received its last major update about a month ago. That update added new ways of discovering music, artist suggestions by music library scanning, and support for additional languages.
